SolarKindle – Dedicated bookworms can use the SolarKindle to charge their Amazon Kindle e-reader whenever they're in sunlight. The device includes a leather case and built-in extended battery, promising three months of usage in a "normal sunlight environment". The $US79.95 device from SolarFocus Technology will be available in the US in January, but Australians should be able to order it online. Zensorium Tinke – This small device plugs into your smartphone and by simply holding your finger onto it you can track your heart rate, respiratory rate and the level of oxygen in your blood. Results can be tracked over time, anonymously compared with other people of a similar age and shared to your social networks. OLPC Tablet – The first tablet to be powered by solar cells (or hand crank), the "One Laptop Per Child" tablet builds on the success of the earlier super-cheap OLPC laptops that have brought computing technology to disadvantaged and remote areas, including indigenous communities in Australia. The niche 8-inch device, designed to provide kids in the developing world with access to modern education, has a price target of around $US100 per unit. Acer Aspire S5 Ultrabook – A swarm of "ultrabook" MacBook Air rivals is expected to be announced at CES, but Acer got in first with the S5. The laptop is being dubbed the world's thinnest laptop, coming in at 15mm at its thinnest point. It has a 13.3-inch screen and weighs around 1.35kg. Acer also announced an iCloud-like service that lets users store all of their files online for access on any device. Lenovo IdeaTab Tablet S2 - One of the first tablets to feature the new Android, version 4.0 or "Ice Cream Sandwich", the Lenovo Tablet S2 has a 10-inch screen and connects to a detachable keyboard, much like the Asus Transformer Prime. It's 8.6mm thin, weighs 600 grams and includes front- and rear-facing cameras, 64GB of storage, a dual-core 1.7GHz processor and a HDMI output for connection to a TV.fairfax Samsung inTouch HD – For those who don't want to shell out for a new internet-enabled TV, web functionality can be added to your existing TV set via the HDMI port. The battery in the bag itself can be charged by plugging the backpack into a power socket. The backpacks start at $US139.99 and can be ordered online. Lenovo Android-powered TV – With Apple expected to release a TV later this year, TV vendors are pre-empting that attack with TVs powered by Google's Android platform. Lenovo is the first to announce its offering – a 55-inch model with 8GB of included storage, a 5-megapixel camera, access to apps and voice controls. fairfax
